Join me in supporting real change. Let's support good in the world and make a difference. Help increase safety and overall well-being for domestic violence survivors and their children by supporting the Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice (LACLJ)!
Physical violence is just one of many tactics used to hurt, intimidate, frighten, and ultimately control an intimate partner, but our systems are designed to respond specifically to cases involving physical assault, or to treat these cases as more legitimate or dire than others. This month, in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, LACLJ is joining the #ThisIsDV campaign to help elevate the voices of survivors, validate & name their experiences, and raise awareness about the multifaceted nature of domestic violence. Because recognizing domestic violence is critical if we are to take action to address and prevent it.
LACLJ attorneys are valuable advocates for survivors as they seek to re-establish their long-term stability, safety and autonomy. LACLJ attorneys help domestic violence survivors obtain protective orders, establish child-centered custody arrangements, and apply for immigration relief, among other legal needs. LACLJ attorneys provide a confidential relationship within which survivors can learn about their rights and make informed and empowered choices that best serve the interests of themselves and their families. Through its innovative Community Care Advocacy Program, LACLJ integrates legal and social services in order to promote client well-being through supportive services such as education, linkages to community resources, safety planning, and court accompaniment.
Your donation of ANY AMOUNT will go a long way towards LACLJ meeting its goal for our #ThisIsDV campaign! Thank you!
